Maia Land Memories Museum – Virtual
The “Museu de Memórias da Terra da Maia – Virtual” was developed in response to a public consultation promoted by the Maia City Council within the framework of the Municipal Master Plan (Plano Diretor Municipal).
During this participatory process, local residents expressed a shared concern: a significant part of Maia’s intangible heritage – its oral histories, lived experiences, traditions, and community memories – were gradually being lost over time. Stories deeply connected to the territory risked disappearing with the generations who carry them.
In close collaboration with the Museum of History and Ethnology of Terra da Maia, Pointify designed and produced a digital initiative aimed at preserving and amplifying this collective memory. The project resulted in a series of 15 documentary-style videos, featuring interviews and narrative recollections that capture personal stories intrinsically linked to the region’s identity.
The “Virtual Museum” format ensures that these memories are not only safeguarded but also made accessible to a wider audience. By combining community engagement, cultural preservation, and digital storytelling, the project transforms intangible heritage into a living, shareable archive.
Task
" Pointify was responsible for the full execution of the project, including conducting community interviews, carrying out documentary research, and managing all stages of video production — from filming to editing."
